On August 31st, 2012 President Obama proclaimed September as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, stating "This month, we pay tribute to the families, friends, professionals, and communities who lend their strength to children fighting pediatric cancer. May their courage and commitment continue to move us toward new cures, healthier outcomes, and a brighter future for America's youth."
In September 2019, Evesham Township, in collaboration with Evesham Fire Rescue and the Evesham Police Department, will be following the lead of the American Childhood Cancer Organization and Going Gold for Childhood Cancer. Over the course of the month of September, Evesham Township Employees will be displaying their support for childhood cancer research by wearing Gold.
Going Gold T-Shirts are being sold through the Evesham Professional Firefighters Foundation, a 501(c)3 public charity. All proceeds will be donated to childhood cancer research through the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania Cancer Research Center.
Shirts will be available to the public on September 28th, during the townships annual Fall Festival on Main Street. Stop by the firehouse to pick up your shirt.
