When an emergency happens, adequate in-house staffing ensures a timely response to quickly and efficiently mitigate the situation. Our members have worked hand in hand with management to ensure Fire and EMS services are available around the clock.
Our members attend regular training programs to better ourselves to be ready to help you. All of our members carry multiple certifications in Fire and EMS, including level 1 or higher fire service instructors, Fire Inspectors, Uniform Construction Code inspectors, Firefighter Levels 1 & 2, and more. Not to mention the while EMT-B is the minimum requirement, many of our members are Paramedics.
Helping those in need does not stop at the end of our shifts. The Evesham Professional Firefighters have a 501(c)3 registered charitable foundation that helps support our fellow firefighters and the community we serve.

Although Ken was never officially a part of our organization, he belonged to Burlington County Professional Firefighters, Local 3091, and Evesham Fire Officers, FMBA Local 115. Satch was a leader and mentor to many of our founding and current members. Satch was an installation around Evesham Fire. He loved his career, but he loved his family, children, and grandchildren even more.
Members were fortunate to spend time with Satch at our recent retiree breakfast, where stories were shared, memories were recollected, and brotherhood was enjoyed.
We wish the entire Harper family our sincerest and heartfelt condolences.
We have the watch from here, Cap. Get some rest, you’ve earned it.

Samuel M. Peeples, a 37-year veteran of the fire service with West Berlin Fire-Rescue, was a cornerstone of the Berlin Township community. Affectionately known as “Sammy,” his dedication and kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. Whether at the firehouse or out in the community, Sammy embodied the spirit of service that defines the fire service. His contributions and legacy will not be forgotten, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Qua’dry Lyons, a firefighter with the Lakewood Fire Department, tragically passed on January 14, 2025. Qua’dry joined the department as a volunteer in 2023 and became a career firefighter in 2024. In his short time with Lakewood Fire Department and Lakewood Professional Firefighters and Fire Officers, FMBA 80 & 280, he exemplified dedication, courage, and an unwavering commitment to his community. Qua’dry was more than a firefighter—he was a teammate, a brother, and a friend who went above and beyond to support those around him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and colleagues of both Samuel Peeples and Qua’dry Lyons during this incredibly difficult time. Their legacies of service, courage, and dedication to their communities will continue to inspire us all.
As we honor their memories, IAFF Local 4687 stands united in support of the fire service family.
Rest in peace, Brothers Peeples and Lyons. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. 9 Comments
In October and November, Evesham faced wildfires that burned about 360 acres with no loss of life or structures. While we were fortunate, the tragic loss of life, homes and communities in California reminds us how quickly these situations can escalate. It’s a sobering reminder to be grateful for the outcomes we’ve had but also to recognize the ongoing need for preparation, resources, and community support.
The firefighters in California are facing extreme wind, and other conditions with thousands of personnel working tirelessly to protect lives and property. Their efforts underscore the importance of having adequate staffing and resources to respond effectively to emergencies. As a community, support is crucial in ensuring firefighters remain prepared for any future challenges. Departments can continue to protect and serve, always ready for whatever comes their way.
Let’s keep those affected by the California wildfires in our thoughts, and remember that by working together, we can also strengthen our community’s resilience and safety. 35 Likes
